Philip Livingston Magnet Academy Reviews

Well as a student I attend PLMA ,I enjoy the programs they have availble but the class room sizes are over crowed. By having large classrooms with just one teacher it is hard to teach the students. In my 8th grade Spanish class there were 29 students for 1 teacher& on top of that the teacher was changed over 4 times through the beginning of the school year. That is why the class of 2004 final exams was a real disappointment. Yes, the kids act up (more than they should) but if given the right amount of attention & good teachers I believe that we would be able to learn. The English teach on Red Wing (Ms.Davis) she is a extremly good teacher. We liked her because she tought us what we needed to know and still had time to relate to us & help us out with everything.

The magnet program has really helped this school -you get a wider range of classes here (such as dance, honors level core classes) than with many lower end private schools. Also, my child is in the numerical minority here and this is refreshingly not an issue - she really likes the school and is doing well.
