All that is living and breathing is living and breathing in me and with me. Right here, in my heart. And in yours too. This I do know, for myself, and mostly in my own quiet way. I just want to love, is all. My will to just be pure love in embodiment is all for me and everything else added to that is just a bonus. I have high standards for myself in that way. For me, love has to have discernment and awarness or else it will have nothing of true compassion in it. There has to be a balance struck. I feel that is the purpose of a human being. Or, perhaps just my own purpose for being. So, I love. Yet, I don't necessarily feel much empathy for that which is anti-life. I don't elevate shit sandwiches and I don't celebrate abominations. But I also don't necessarily condemn. I can tell what's what and this from that but I don't dwell much in the shadow of that contention. I feel like we have to experience a sense of separation or seeming duality enough "outside" of ourselves, "out there" in the world... so why let it pollute our mentation ? Sure, some compartmentalizing is necessary in ways, just to hold our sense of our egoic self together. You don't have to let it soil your mind or blacken your heart or dim your perception of life. All whys usually end up being arbitrary but I'm usually not against exploring them for fun and to connect the dots. The role of mind among waves is to sort for what can be shared. When I suspend my own definitions in the midst of my perceptions, I usually find that true knowing can fill that space and I trust that beyond perception. It just makes life more awesome. We are all capable of so much beauty when we are left uncorrupted, to be in our naturalness. To trust ourselves and our experiences. To know that we are enough just as we are. To know that we all come into life bearing gifts. Tremendous gifts. The importance of reflecting that to others about themselves. The importance also of self-reflection and being able to self-reference. To know that sometimes our wounds actually show us the way to our gifts and help us to recognize them for what they truly are. To also know that you are a creation that's already perfect, whole and complete. You have a linear story of you that you are subjectively experiencing but that your'e so much more than just this. And though it may seem to make you at times, for good or for ill, it can never create you and it's neither the core of your being nor your true self. To find yourself minding yourself mining yourself in a dream. To bring things from beyond that dream of a dream and plant their seed here in the world to bear small fruits that whisper reminders and memories of the truth to people who taste them. To witness the world from your own sense of wholeness. How powerful, uplifting, and freeing it can be for others when you are free yourself in their presence and thereby a testament to their own freedom. Dropping guilt, fear, inherited shame. Surrendering any sense of grandiosity so that you can see and embrace your true grandeur and know that it's the real and celebrate it together that this is what we truly share. The idea that we are all worthy of love BECAUSE we actually are love in substantiation. We all forget sometimes. Everything is everything is true... you just gotta savor the flavor. Is all. Part of the fun is remembering. Maybe there is no such thing as: an unimportant person, somebody who is worthless, somebody who doesn't fit or doesn't belong, a sinner... a saint.

I like listening to music, doing art, and tattoos. I tend to spend a lot of time outdoors when its warm out and have an interest in identifying wild edibles and herbs.

I love working with and being around children. I'm a pretty good communicator, I get pretty frustrated with people who aren't and I think honesty is more important then most things. I tend to tease those I'm friends with.

I have, by choice, lived in abandoned buildings, hitchhiked across the country a few times and gotten arrested in a train yard. For the last 5 years I've been living in Albany, chances are in June I'll be moving to Brooklyn.

I always suck at writing these things. There are so many qualities about myself that I can't put into words, or choose not to. I find that getting to know a person comes through communication, through talk and looks and body movements. I'm fascinated by personal interactions, although I also tend to be fairly shy when first getting to know a person. If you're one of the "lucky" few, you will get to hear me ramble more times than you probably care for...

But seriously, I love theology, but I don't practice a religion. The beliefs I have were acquired through experience and from witnessing life firsthand. I love both listening to and playing music - I have a fairly eclectic taste in music and I can play several musical instruments. I even use to sing, although I haven't sung publicly in several years.

I like to read, although I don't really have a preference in literature...basically, anything that reads well can hold my attention. I love the poetry of Pablo Neruda, particularly his love poetry. There's something so raw and honest about it. I actually use to write a lot more than I do now, although my poetry tends to be dark...oftentimes darker than the moods that inspire it.

Overall, I love life. I believe in the beauty of the world. I use to go camping with my family, and I love hiking or walking somewhere that is nature centered. I find thunderstorms relaxing, enjoy running around in the rain, have watched several meteor showers in my lifetime. I have slept outdoors by a campfire, stayed up all night roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. I enjoy experiencing the world barefoot...there's nothing like feeling the textures of the world beneath my feet.

I have too many qualities to list on a website, things that are more easily expressed through personal interactions. Oftentimes, people recognize qualities about me before I do...and being able to learn something about yourself through other people is one of the most beautiful experiences in the world.

I'd consider myself pretty successful at life so far. I have a great job, am very focused on reaching my goals and every day I get a little closer to achieving everything I dreamed of being when I was a little kid. Pursuing my passion for music, staying in shape, and learning everything I can about rennovating and restoring my 1930's home have pretty much been my after work life for quite some time. I've been really focused on getting ahead in life, and have been working really hard to push myself through any obstacle that came my way.

Then something happened to me on a recent visit downtown that made me take a step back. Have you ever been to that little park behind the Albany museum? I cant remember the name of the place, but its right where the Egg is. There's these big pools of water, gorgeous artwork, and all the trees are trimmed up into geometric shapes - at the right time of day it's like a scene from another world. My unexpected epiphany? Ease up on the throttle a little, and enjoy life! I haven't traveled nearly as much as I've wanted to and there are *so* many new worlds to explore.

Fortunately, I'm in a great place in life and can afford to be a little spontaenous. Last weekend I grabbed a friend and went to Rochester on a whim just to see one of my favorite DJ's. This weekend who knows, although I'll probably keep things low key for a while so I can swing a trip to Italy later this year. Point is, as long as you've got a little adventure in you we're going to have a blast. I'd like to start by taking you out for a great cup of coffee just so we can get to know eachother. I consider myself to be a modern hippie. I am not promiscuous, nor do I engage in other activities (smoking and etc) that most "hippies" do, but I am of the same mindset. People often have a difficult time placing me in my biological age group. I have been told I have an old soul. I have also been told I have a deep soul. Which, I guess, is why people forget my age. I am happy about that. My age is just a number of how old my body is, not a measure of my intelligence, wisdom, soul, or my true age. I may have lived 100 past lives, I do not know. I have a friend who argues with me bitterly, though we still care for each other like brother and sister. We have even discussed the possibility that we have lived past lives as such, or lovers. It is an interesting thing to think about. Age is only a number, meaningless with the exception of indicating how precious time on this planet is.

Lately I've been caught dancing in the mirror in my underwear, making jewelry and pottery, singing in my car, working a lot , and learning spanish. I'm the most sarcastic person I know, but it's only out of love. I'm not crazy, just eclectic. I'm fun and laid back.

Hello! I'm a relatively new resident of Albany and the northeast (about a year now, as of Summer '09). I'm feeling pretty settled here these days; it's not a development I was sure was going to happen at all, let alone fairly quickly, but it's sort of gratifying, since in all likelihood I'll be here for some time. I've built up a nice existence here in the last year and I can only imagine things continuing to be enjoyable. I'm always looking for interesting people to meet and new things to do that are worthwhile and rewarding.

Since anything I write here is going to be a pretty truncated version of who I am and what I'm about, I'll just gesture at some of what I take to be important (and welcome greetings and questions). Sharing life with other people brings out the best in me. I can be fairly self-sufficient, and sometimes I'm quite happy to relax by myself or do something quiet rather than going out, but I enjoy life the most when I have others to experience things with. Sometimes this means a trip, but simple entertainment with the right company, like a beer and a game of pool or scrabble and dessert, always hit the spot too.

Learning, exploring, and growing are big deals. I'm always happy to go somewhere new and I've been pretty fortunate in the travel I've done so far. I love activities that challenge me, either physically (hiking, jogging) or mentally (museums, theater, movies, etc.) in some way, though not usually in some competitive way. I like to have some sort of goal to strive towards, even if I'm pretty far away.

People often find me offensive. Most likely because I rarely play the game as it was designed. I crave knowledge, it's my own personal crack-cocaine. When devout (delusional) people talk to me about one of the big three religions I usually piss them off by breaking into hysterics. Maybe I'm so outright rejecting of most major religions because I'm far too knowledgeable about them. I love to study things that I believe to be a complete farce just to further solidify my ground against those I fervently disagree with. Did that make any sense? I hope so.

As of recently I'm pretty sad that one of my true idols died. I loved George Carlin. He was like my own personal prophet since I've been seven years old.

I write, and read, and generally enjoy looking things up. Wikipedia, Ted.com and dictionary.com are my favorite websites. Information is great, and it can be addictive. Holding conversations about almost anything is a hobby of mine, I tend to do it well. I really enjoy listening to other people more than talking myself.

I edit everything I type, which can be annoying when conversing on the internet. I edited this passage three times. The editing thing comes in useful when I'm writing. I do it naturally so it doesn't really interrupt my train of thought. I also randomly enjoy it when people point out my spelling mistakes, it helps me correct them permanently.

I'm fairly intelligent, or at least I like to think so, luckily so do most people I meet. I have a bit of a problem with utilizing it effectively at times, but not too much. I do enjoy a debate about mostly anything as long as the person I'm debating with is capable of having their mind changed. If it's something you're completely set in stone about talking at length on that subject generally doesn't matter. All people really need to do in this case is touch base and see if their ideals meet up and if not they should agree to disagree.

I have a pretty fast wit. I've left friends with a joke that can take them minutes to start laughing, they're always funny, sometimes it just takes a bit to register. This also helps me a lot with solving problems quickly, which is extremely useful.

I'm fairly liberal, and identify with libertarianism in what I want from the government, though, that seems to be failing due to the Utopian ideal of thinking people should be good. I also spend a lot of time looking up information on economics, and politics. I want to write a book on my views about government and social structure, but there is so much information to include and so many things to think about.

I'm a bit of a hippy really. Not the, "Hey man, wanna smoke a bowl," type of hippy. I'm more the, "Peace and love," kind. I'm not very religious, and that's why OKCupid thinks I'm not spiritual, but I believe I am spiritual, in a way. I just don't think that if there is some all powerful being out there, that it would really care if I have sex before marriage, if I like men, or even if I believe in it. I try to live as a good person, and if that isn't enough, than so be it.

I'd like to think I change people's lives, and hopefully I do it for the better. I'm a good friend, an excellent listener, and a bad talker. I should explain that last statement. I'm fine at speaking, it just takes me a while to warm up, especially since I enjoy hearing people talk a lot. Though I do ramble occasionally.

I am passionate about learning and am working on a Ph.D., so that I can have a career that will allow me to learn about things that interest me. I relocated to NY from the Mid-South a few years ago to attend grad school and am looking to met people outside of my usual grad school social circle. I'm a politically liberal news junky requiring a daily fix. I enjoy talking about the news of the day and exercise my cynical disrespect for the honchos of both left and right with people who enjoy the same. (Thank you Rod Blogojovich!!) My observation is that liberals congregate in think-tanks to exercise their grey matter, while conservative get together in belief-tanks to use their black-and-white matter.

I enjoy reading mystery and science-fiction novels when I'm in an unserious mood, and science and philosophy on those rare occasions that I fell like an adult.

For my viewing pleasure, I like shows and movies similar to my reading preferences, plus comedies. Sometimes I combine these and watch an old cheesy sci-fi or horror flick so bad it's funny. (Battlefield Earth anyone??)

I do just enough jogging and yoga to keep my arms strong for 16 ounce curls at the finest area restaurants.

It was suggested that I post a profile here because I had become frustrated with wasting money on other dating websites.
